Management system improves LTO processes

The Land Transportation Management System (LTMS), developed by the joint venture of Dermalog, Holy Family Printing Corp. and Microgenesis Business Systems, has improved the efficiency and convenience of various processes at the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Dermalog JV said in a statement the LTO through LTMS issued 28 million driver’s licenses, translating about 30,000 a day that experienced fast and easy driver’s license renewal.

”If the 28 million driver’s license were not issued in LTMS, P1.932 billion in computer fees would have been charged to the driving public,” Dermalog JV said.

“On the other hand, for the 70,000 to 80,000 motor vehicle registrations a day in LTMS, the motoring public has also saved between P3.123 billion to P3.245 billion every year in computer fees,” it said.

LTMS offers a full and complete service offering in motor vehicle transactions and it is being used extensively when buying a new motor vehicle, renewing your motor vehicle registration or performing a miscellaneous transaction.

“Likewise, insurance companies, roadworthy organizations like the private motor vehicle inspection centers [PMVICs] and motor vehicle dealers also use extensive online verification of electronic data sent from various agencies connected only to LTMS when processing a motor vehicle transaction,” Dermalog JV said.

Meanwhile, Dermalog JV clarified that the Bugatti Chirons flagged down by Senator Raffy Tulfo were not registered with the LTMS.

“The Bugatti Chirons would not have been able to be registered in LTMS as the robust security features of LTMS would have prevented such registration to occur,” Dermalog said.

“Dermalog vowed that the company will continue to uphold its commitment to excellence by providing state-of-the-art biometric and identification systems worldwide,” it said.
