The Caloocan City police and traffic enforcers were provided with new equipment, specifically motorcycles, patrol cars, and body cameras to boost their law enforcement and public safety operations.
At least 30 new motorcycles and eight mobile patrol vehicles were procured by the city government to strengthen patrol operations of both the local police force and the Public Safety and Traffic Management Department (PSTMD).
Along with the new vehicles, traffic operatives likewise received more than 80 sets of body cameras to be used during daily traffic operations, especially in interactions and contact apprehension of erring motorists.
Caloocan Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan called on the city law enforcers to maximize the use of the new vehicles and equipment to ensure the safety of the general public, especially at night.
These equipment comes from the desire of the city government to attain peace and safety for our people, especially at night. That is why we call on the police and other operatives to use these equipment properly,”Malapitan said.
He said proper use of the body cameras in traffic duties will lead to more honest interactions with the motorists.
The body cams will be a big help for the protection of our traffic enforcers in their daily grind, apart from the objective to ultimately stamp out anomalous transactions where the offenders often get away with their misdeeds,” Malapitan added.
