Workers of the city government of Manila enhance the public square known as San Lorenzo Ruiz Plaza in Binondo district in preparation of the Chinese New Year celebration, with 2024 designated as the year of the Wooden Dragon under the Chinese calendar. The observance also marks the 430th anniversary of the Chinatown in Binondo, reputedly the world’s oldest of such ethnic community.
