Taguig City Mayor Laarni Cayetano recently inaugurated in Barangay Calzada-Tipas a new multi-purpose building in Barangay Calzada-Tipas designed to provide critical services and serve as a venue for community events.
The ground floor of the building houses a health center that offers a wide range of services, including a TB direct observation therapyroom, a minor surgical room, an examination room, a physician’s office, a prenatal/family planning room, a dental clinic, a treatment room, and a breastfeeding room.
The second floor serves as the barangay hall with offices, a clearance and permits section, a conference room, a session hall, a Barangay Affairs Office for community-related concerns, and an e-library for public use.
The third floor is a spacious playing court that provides an excellent venue for sports and physical activities, as well as a safe space for residents during times of disasters and calamities.
Mayor Cayetano hopes that the construction of this new building will inspire officials and employees of Barangay Calzada-Tipas to serve their community with renewed passion. She emphasized the importance of the people running the services provided by the building and hoped to secure cooperation between the barangay and the city government for better programs.
Barangay captain Rommel Tanyag expressed gratitude to the local government and pledged to take good care of the facility and enhance the services it provides.
“On behalf of the people of Barangay Calzada, we sincerely thank Mayor Lani and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano for the realization of our long-desired Barangay Hall and Health Center. You can expect that we will do everything we can to take care of it and improve the service we provide,” he said.
City councilors Jimmy Labampa, Totong Mañosca, and Gamie San Pedro; barangay and Sanggunian Kabataan officials, City Health Office heads and health center staff, as well as officials from the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs and Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office, were also present at the ceremony to show their support.
