Viva star Rhen Escaño kicks off 2024 with an extended role in the Kapamilya hit series Can’t Buy Me, Love, starring alongside Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano.
Initially set for a brief appearance, Escaño reveals the unexpected extension of her role from three to five days. To her surprise, the production has now booked her until next year, expanding her character with a sub-story.
“I already started taping, especially the important scenes. There’s a reason why her character wasn’t seen for a considerable length of time. But I promise you that we’re all getting to the most exciting part. I’m happy that we’ve maintained strong viewership. We’re always in the top 10 list on Netflix. I swear, there are lots of exciting happenings in the coming episodes!”
Curiously, is hers a “contravida” part?
“I can’t divulge since it might spoil things. But I’m confident to say that it’ll be worth waiting. For one, I never had a role like this in my previous acting assignments. It’s like you don’t know what she is,” Escaño says.
“Actually, at first, you won’t know what the character is and where it’s going in the story. We didn’t have a finished script so we’ll wait until the scene is shot. But when I knew the flow of the story, I got excited with the character. It has many layers! Avid TV buffs should watch out for it,” she adds.
Apart from her bigger participation in Can’t Buy Me Love, Escaño was also tapped to be the official endorser of the rising online casino portal CC6.
“I’m really glad and proud that I was considered for this project. I am their maiden endorser and one thing that I like about it is that they would involve me in their charity works. Especially this coming February when they will celebrate their third anniversary. I think it’s nice to work on something which has a noble purpose,” she ends.

The actress stresses that she doesn’t have regrets about her previous relationships even if she got hurt.
