The El Niño Online Platform shall be set up to provide the public with relevant and timely information to help them plan and respond accordingly to the onset of the weather system, the task force dedicated by the government to it said Wednesday.
Task Force El Niño (TFEN), which was reactivated and reconstituted under Executive Order No. 53, formally convened at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. The meeting was presided over by Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr. as chairperson of the said task force.
Under EO 53, the co-chairperson of the TFEN is Science and Technology Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. Other members are Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga, Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, and National Economic and Development Authority Secretary Arsenio Balisacan.
