President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Eric Jose Castro Ines as the new acting general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).
Ines, a former airline station manager assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), will be the airport chief in Manila effective Dec. 15, 2023.
“I am pleased to transmit the appointment letter of Mr. Eric Jose Castro Ines as acting General Manager and member of the board of directors of MIAA,” Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista said in a statement.
Ines was set to take his oath of office before DOTr Secretary Bautista next week.
Ines began his career as a security officer at Gulf Air in 1988 and later became station manager at Etihad Airways after 12 years at Gulf Air.
Ines hails from Ilocos Norte where he spent time as a farmer after his retirement.
