PRESIDENT Marcos reminds the public to be conscious of electricity consumption and “foster a culture of responsible energy use” as the country marked this year’s National Energy Consciousness Month (NECM).

“As we pursue the path of sustainable development, it is important that we develop a keen awareness of our energy consumption,” the President said in his message for the month-long observance.

“Thus, this month-long event serves as a reminder for us to reflect on our energy habits and foster a culture of responsible energy use,” Mr. Marcos  added.

The Chief Executive also called on the country to recognize this year’s Energy (Efficiency) Awardees and emulate individuals and organizations dedicated to promoting energy efficiency and conservation.

“I hope that with their example we can inspire the rest of the country to become more conscious in utilizing our energy supply more responsibly,” Mr. Marcos said.

Mr. Marcos also gave assurance that during NECM, the administration would continue exploring alternative energy solutions and implement new policies in creating sustainable practices and utilization of new energy technologies and applications.

“With everyone’s help, we can build a more sustainable and resilient future for us and for the generations that will follow,” he stressed.

The Department of Energy would lead the observance of the NECM that coincides with its 51st-anniversary celebration this month.
