A total of 1,398 new Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials took their oath in front of Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan on Monday, November 13 at the Caloocan City Sports Complex to officially
inaugurate their term of service to the city’s youth sector.
Being the ones mainly in charge of youth empowerment and development, Mayor Along challenged the new SK officers to focus on more programs that would strengthen the fight against issues hounding the said sector, especially bullying and mental health concerns.
The City Mayor likewise encouraged the SK oath-takers to overcome the challenge of being young public officials and reminded them to take their duties and responsibilities as they are not just role models to
their fellow youth, but are representatives of the bright future that awaits the city and the country.
“As young as you can be, you are starting to do something great.
serbisyong may aksyon at malasakit,” Mayor Along declared.
Prior to the oath-taking, the new SK officials of the city have undergone mandatory training for leadership development and capacity building to be better equipped for the responsibilities of public
service.
