The Supreme Court (SC) has scheduled the oath-taking of those who passed the Bar examinations on December 22 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The date of the release of those who passed the 2023 online Bar examinations has not yet been announced.

A total of 10,387 out of 10,791 registered examinees took and completed the three-day 2023 Bar examinations administered by the SC last Sept. 17, 20, and 24 in 14 local testing centers nationwide.

The 2023 Bar examinations marked the first time that successful examinees will be admitted into the practice of their profession in the same year they took the examinations.

Results of the previous years’ examinations were released during the first quarter of the following year after they took the tests.

The SC, through Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando who is the chairperson of the examinations, had earlier announced that the results will be released in early December and the oath-taking and signing of the Roll of Attorneys will be held before Christmas.

Hernando had also said that the examinations will be sorted and checked by four examiners per subject and not through artificial intelligence (AI) as earlier claimed in at least two social media accounts.

Six core subjects were covered during the three-day 2023 examinations—Political and Public International Law, 15 percent; Commercial and Taxation Laws, 20 percent; Labor Law and Social Legislation, 10 percent; Criminal Law, 10 percent; and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises, 25 percent.

The Bar admission fee per successful examinee is P5,000.
