Over half or 57% of Filipinos surveyed agree with Congress’ decision to reallocate confidential and intelligence funds (CIF) to agencies handling national security, a recent OCTA Research Tugon Ng Masa Survey showed.
Conducted from September 30 to October 5, the survey covered a total of 1,200 respondents nationwide, from ages 18 and up, and classes AB, C, D, and E.
According to the survey, 72% of the respondents were aware of the discussions pertaining to confidential funds.
“This was highest in Balance Luzon at 75% and lowest in Mindanao at 24%. Among socio-economic groups, 72% of class ABC agreed (highest) while 54% of class E agreed (lowest),” OCTA Research said.
The majority of the respondents with awareness of the issue were from Balance Luzon at 87%, while the highest percentage of respondents with no knowledge of the issues belonged to Mindanao at 39%.
Among socio-economic groups, there was a 79% awareness percentage among respondents in class ABC, while Class E was reported to have the lowest rate at 66%.
Meanwhile, only 14% of adult Filipinos disagreed with Congress’ decision to reallocate the confidential funds.
Five sample households and a probability respondent were chosen for every sample barangay, accounting for a ±3% margin of error.
