Miado eyes contender status in rematch vs Adiwang

Silencing the doubters isn’t really on the mind of Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado, but if that’s the byproduct of a glorious return – then so be it.

To him, his upcoming rematch against Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang at ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade this Saturday morning is the perfect chance for him to scale the strawweight ladder and get himself back into contendership.

“I believe I’ve improved a lot since then,” he said.

Miado’s hands were raised the first time these two fighters crossed paths at ONE X card in March 2022. But that match ended inauspiciously, with Adiwang suffering a crushing ACL tear.

“There are a lot of people saying that I only won because Lito got injured, I really don’t have a problem with it, that’s their opinion,” he stated.

Despite the criticisms, the T-Rex MMA stud is determined to show that he really is the better man between the two Filipino strawweights. His confidence is rooted from the exposure he got with his elite training partners in Thailand when he was still with Marrok Force MMA.

“When I was in Thailand, I was working on all my weaknesses, my wrestling both in offense and defense. I also sharpened my striking and we all know that Thais are high level strikers, so that’s something that I’ve developed since that fight,” he said.

And it only bolsters his faith that he can make a massive statement in his second go-round against Adiwang, one that he believes could propel him to the top contenders in the division, saying: “I just really want to be in the top five.”

“This is the perfect chance for me to prove that I deserve to be in the mix of contenders.”
