New naval detachment inaugurated in Mavulis

The Armed Forces of the Philippines inaugurated its new Naval Detachment Building on the island of Mavulis–the northernmost of the Philippines.

Gracing the event was Senior Vice Chairman of the Committee on National Defense Senator Francis Tolentino, who allocated Php 37M for the said facility.

“Mavulis will be known to every Freedom-loving Filipino, and this marker reminds all Filipinos who value our Sovereignty,” stressed Sen. Tolentino.

Governor Marilou H. Cayco was also present and expressed her utmost gratitude to the leadership of Sen. Tolentino and showed her salute and appreciation for the sacrifices and hardwork of every soldier manning the said detachment in Mavulis.

The Naval Detachment in Mavulis is a significant undertaking and partnership between the AFP through the Northern Luzon command and Naval Forces Northern Luzon and the Provincial Government of Batanes in keeping our national security and sovereignty.

Also present during the inauguration are NOLCOM Commander Lt Gen. Fernyl Buca, Commander of the Offshore Fleet Commodore Ike De Sagon, NFNL Commander Commodore Francisco Tagamolila, Philippine Navy Flag Officer in Command Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci, Jr, Vice Governor Ignacio Villa, Itbayat Mayor Sabas De Sagon, Provincial Administrator Justinne Jerico Socito, and other high-ranking AFP Officials.
