The Department of Health (DOH) Center for Health Development has recognized Taguig City for its dedication to providing diverse exceptional medical support to its constituents.

The recognition was conferred during the DOH’s program implementation review conferences and Local Health System Recognition: 2022 LGU Health Scorecard Implementation.

The LGU Health Scorecard is a component of the FOURmula One (F1) Plus for Health Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) aimed at promoting equity and effectiveness. It also serves as a primary tool for assessing and monitoring the performance of local government units (LGUs) in meeting the national health targets based on the priority programs of the DOH.

Taguig was conferred an award for its remarkable and exceptional performance in implementing health reform strategies within the city-wide health system, providing high-quality healthcare services for Taguigueños and contributing to the achievement of Universal Health Care in Metro Manila.

Mayor Lani Cayetano, at the helm of a transformative, lively, and caring city, is committed to delivering quality and accessible healthcare services and programs for all Taguigueños, the city government said in a statement.

City Health Officer Dr. Norena Osano, Executive Assistant for Health Dr. Cecille Montales, City Health Technical Officer Dr. Olivia Andaya, Universal Healthcare Program Manager Dr. Sherry Ann Juta-Bergado, Health Education Promotion Office Program Manager Dr. Abdul Jalili Sanday and Disease Surveillance Officer FHSIS Nurse Coordinator Richelle Timog accepted the award on behalf of the city government and the people.

Taguig was one of only eight local government units in the National Capital Region (NCR) to receive this honor.

The city also received a plaque of appreciation for its significant contribution in strengthening the program implementation and a certificate of recognition for successfully documenting and sharing good practices in health strategy to address health issues within the community.

In addition, the city also stands as one of only two LGUs in the Philippines invited to a global meeting to showcase its best practices in the National Immunization Program and hailed as the Immunization Champion for reaching every Purok in the city.
