This year’s PHx Fashion Conference, a pioneering initiative of the PHx Fashion Group led by notable names in the industry, with the vision of setting global standards for emerging fashion labels and designers is set for November 17 to 19 at the Ayala Museum in Makati City.
Conceived and spearheaded by fashion luminary and educator, Esme Palaganas, in collaboration with contemporary fashion designer, Seph Bagasao, and with the support of Trickie Lopa, the PHx Fashion Conference debuted in November 2019 with the mission to cultivate a creative business environment through education and market incubation. It thrives on promoting innovation, mentorship, and fostering industry collaboration to expand the horizons of Filipino fashion designers as they develop their labels.
Fashion luminaries as panelists and speakers
PHx Fashion Conference 2023 brings together distinguished names in the fashion world to explore both the creative and business aspects of the industry.
The conference will begin with a conversation between Paris-based Filipino-British designer Norman René De Vera and Vogue Philippines fashion editor, Pam Quiñones.
De Vera, who started his global fashion journey at the London College of Fashion, has worked with iconic fashion houses such as Celine, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Versace, and Calvin Klein. He is currently the Design and Image Director at the French legacy brand, AZ Factory.
Steering the principal segments of PHx Fashion Conference 2023 are TFC Press founder Philippe Terrien and his wife, former fashion editor Giselle Go. The Japan-based duo has also ventured into the skincare industry with their brand, Damdam Tokyo.
Apart from talks, panel discussions, and workshops, select participants will have the chance to present their designs in a Portfolio Review.
Filipino designer Carl Jan Cruz and the co-founders of the bespoke jewelry brand, 13 Lucky Monkey, Dante Dizon, and Noli Coronado, will also share their experiences and insights into navigating the international fashion arena.
The conference will also delve into protecting and leveraging a company’s brand identity through intellectual property strategies. This segment will be led by designer and entrepreneur Dan Matutina, co-founder of the multi-disciplinary design studio Plus63 Design and the design collective Hydra-design Group.
The group has partnered with one of the country’s leading virtual wallets, Gcash, to present a primer on how creative entrepreneurs and businesses can leverage financial technology to bolster their growth.
The PHx Fashion Group organized this event in collaboration with Ayala Malls through its Bravo Filipino initiative, GCash, and with support from the Embassy of France in Manila, Ayala Museum, and Seda.
