DOH cites Taguig City’s excellent health programs

The Department of Health (DOH) has cited Taguig City for the local government’s performance in implementing local health services.

The DOH said Taguig City scored high in the department’s Local Health System Recognition: 2022 LGU Health Scorecard Implementation. 

The city also got a plaque of appreciation for its contribution to strengthening the implementation and sharing good practices in health strategy to address health issues within the community.

Mayor Lani Cayetano said the local government continues to be “committed to delivering quality and accessible healthcare services and programs for all Taguigueños.”

The award for health development    was conferred on Taguig for its remarkable and excellent performance in implementing health reform strategies in the city, providing high-quality healthcare services for Taguigueños and contributing to the achievement of Universal Health Care in Metro Manila.

Taguig was one of eight local government units in the National Capital Region (NCR) to receive this honor.

The LGU Health Scorecard is a component of the FOURmula One (F1) Plus for Health Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). 

It aims    to promote equity and effectiveness. It also serves as a primary tool for assessing and monitoring the performance of LGUs in meeting the national health targets based on the priority programs of the DOH.

The award was accepted by 

City Health Officer Dr. Norena Osano, Executive Assistant for Health Dr. Cecille Montales, City Health Technical Officer Dr. Olivia Andaya, Universal Healthcare Program Manager Dr. Sherry Ann Juta-Bergado, Health Education Promotion Office Program Manager Dr. Abdul Jalili Sanday and Disease Surveillance Officer FHSIS Nurse Coordinator Richelle Timog.
