Maxicare Life Insurance Corp. (MaxiLife) named Mervin Pobre as new chief executive in place of founding president Pastor Puno effective Aug. 1, 2023.
Under Puno’s guidance, MaxiLife insured 350,000 policy holders in the company’s first five months of commercial operations. MaxiLife also received a Great Place to Work certification, while forging robust strategic partnerships.
Pobre is an established business leader with a career that has included stints in the insurance and banking sectors, both in the Philippines and the US. In his most recent role as chief of strategy at FWD Insurance, he transformed the company into a profitable organization.
Pobre is also an educator who lectures at the Asian Institute of Management, Ateneo De Manila University and De La Salle University.
MaxLife said Pobre’s vast experience in the insurance and financial sectors would be instrumental in furthering the company’s mission to simplify the insurance journey for Filipinos. thus protecting their aspirations for lifelong peace of mind.
