Speaker eyes nationwide launch of gov’t ‘Serbisyo Fair’

Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Saturday led the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair dry run in Naval, Biliran to mark the start of an ambitious undertaking that put together 50 programs and services of 33 government agencies, including the delivery of P80 million worth of assistance under the administration of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. in one roof for two days.

He said the goal is to respond to the challenge posed by the President to speed up the delivery of government services to the farthest corners of the country.

The program is intended to be replicated in every province.

“The President has challenged us to fast-track the delivery of public service in every corner of the country,” Romualdez emphasized. In response, we launched  Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair. The entire membership of the House of Representatives is with us,” he said.

The House leader, in partnership with Tingog party-list  Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre led the pilot launch of the Serbisyo Fair at the Biliran Province State University in Naval.

It brought to the doorstep of Biliran residents at least 50 government programs, services, and assistance, including the labor department’s TUPAD and the DSWD’s AICS, which both provide financial aid to distressed citizens.

Biliran Rep. Gerardo Espina Jr. said it is an honor for the province to host the dry run of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair.

With the launch of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, which hopes to service over 900,000 citizens, Romualdez said the contributions of Congress would no longer be confined to the walls of the chamber but can be directly felt by the communities and the people themselves.

Romualdez said the two-day caravan in each province aimed to also increase awareness of the various government programs and projects of the government and encourage better appreciation and understanding from the people.
