Mayor Along, PLEB laud 250 Caloocan cops for exemplary performance

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan and the local People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) awarded 250 members of the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) for their outstanding service at a simple ceremony held at the Bulwagang Katipunan on Tuesday, August 15.

The PLEB serves as a check and balance mechanism between the actions of the local police force and the interests of the general public, which includes helping discipline bad cops while recognizing and commending the good ones.

Mayor Along congratulated the 250 awardees and the CCPS for their efforts to maintain public order, including multiple operations against drug peddlers and most wanted persons.

“Muli po tayong nagpapasalamat sa CCPS, sa pamumuno ni PCol. Ruben Lacuesta, para sa kanilang walang pagod na pagtulong sa pamahalaang lungsod na panatilihin ang kapayapaan sa mga komunidad. Kitang-kita naman natin ang kanilang pagkilos sa sunud-sunod na pagkilalang nakukuha ng ating kapulisan,” Mayor Along said.

The City Mayor likewise encouraged more cops to not only perform well but to also help other members of their rank to always observe the rule of law and prioritize the safety of the public. He assured the PLEB and his constituents that all those who would violate the law, even law enforcers themselves, will be held accountable.

“Hindi po tayo magiging kampante dahil sa mga nakukuha nating award. Sa lahat po ng pulis Caloocan, panatilihin po natin ang ating magandang mga gawain at tulungan din natin ang iba na gawin nang maayos ang kanilang responsibilidad sa mga mamamayan,” the Mayor stated.

“Sinisiguro ko po na ang ating Lungsod ay may paggalang sa batas, kaya sinisiguro ko sa lahat ng mga Batang Kankaloo na lahat ng lumalabag dito ay pananagutin natin,” he added.

PLEB Officer-in-Charge Atty. Benjamin Roque expressed his continued support towards Mayor Along’s directives regarding peace in local communities and commended the CCPS for a job well done.

“Magpapatuloy po ang pakikipagtulungan ng PLEB sa CCPS upang panatilihin ang mahusay at maayos na pagtupad ng kapulisan sa kanilang tungkulin. Lahat po ito ay bunga ng walang sawang suporta ni Mayor Along sa lahat ng programang tungkol sa kaayusan at kapayapaan sa ating lungsod,” Atty. Roque said.
