Laguna residents get P2k aid via DSWD, solons

The offices of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez, Jude Acidre, and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Tuesday distributed P2,000 in financial assistance to each of the 1,588 residents of Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

The event was held at Villa Remedios Covered Court in Brgy. Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Local officials from the provincial and municipal governments, including, Mayor Egay San Luis, Board Member Milo San Luis, Municipal Councilors Allan Pamatpat, and Throphy Tolentino, Barangay Captain Allan Damitan, and barangay officials attended the event.

Members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) secured the area and safety of the residents during the activity.

The assistance is aimed at providing P2,000 worth of subsidy to the residents of Sta. Cruz who needed support to access essential food items, particularly the indigent members of the community struggling from economic crisis and the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before the distribution of financial assistance, a brief program was held to welcome the attending officials who expressed gratitude for the aid.

They welcomed and appreciated the offices of the House Speaker, Tingog Party-list, and the national government for providing help.

Speaker Romualdez and Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Acidre have been consistently advocating poverty alleviation and providing assistance to the needy.

They have provided help not only in Sta. Cruz but also in other local communities across the country.

Tingog is dedicated to being a transformative and reliable party-list aiming to change prejudicial perceptions of the country’s party-list system.

The office of Speaker and Tingog Party-list have achieved another milestone in their genuine public service for the benefit of Filipinos.
