President Marcos Jr., Vice President Duterte get high marks in Metro Manila
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. received approval and trust ratings of 77 percent and 83 percent, respectively, in the “Boses ng Bayan-NCR” survey conducted by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) from February 25 to March 8.
Vice President Sara Duterte, who is also Education Secretary, scored a 75% approval rating and an 81% trust rating.
President Marcos’ performance rating is up +4 percentage points and VP Duterte’s is up +5 percentage points compared to the December 2022 NCR poll.
NCR Mayors score high in 1st quarter survey
RPMD’s independent, non-commissioned survey of the National Capital Region (NCR) shows that Quezon City Mayor Josefina “Joy” Belmonte has the highest performance rating of any local chief executive in the NCR, at 94%.
With a 91 percent performance assessment score, City Mayors Jeannie Sandoval of Malabon City, Dale “Along” Malapitan of Caloocan City, and John Rey Tiangco of Navotas are statistically tied for the second spot. Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin Abalos Sr. tied for third place with a 90 percent performance rating.
Vico Sotto of Pasig City and Mayors Abigail Binay of Makati City is tied for the fourth rank with an identical 87 percent approval rating. Marcy Teodoro of Marikina City and Imelda Aguilar of Las Piñas City is in fifth place with 85 percent approval.
Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Blazon (83%), Lani Cayetano of Taguig City (80%), Honey Lacuna of Manila (80%), Wes Gatchalian of Valenzuela City (78%), Eric Olivarez of Parañaque City (78%), Francis Zamora of San Juan City (75%), and Ike Ponce III of Pateros (72%) are classified sixth through tenth, respectively, among the top performing NCR Mayors.
NCR’s Top Performing District Representatives
District Representatives Toby Tiangco (92.5%) of Navotas City, Camille Villar (923%) of Las Pias City, and Oca Malapitan (92.1%) of Caloocan City were statistically tied for first place in the National Capital Region (NCR) based on their performance evaluation ratings.
Second place in the job performance assessment was shared by Marvin Rillo (88.7%) of Quezon City, Marivic Co-Pilar (88.5%) of Quezon City, and Boyet Gonzales II (88.3%) of Mandaluyong City.
Also tied for third place in the job appraisal score is Franz Pumaren (86.6%) of Quezon City, Dean Asistio (86.4%) of Caloocan City, and Patrick Michael “PM” Vargas (86.2%).
Stella Quimbo (84.4%) of Marikina City, Tony Calixto (84.3%) of Pasay City, and Roman Romulo (84.1%) of Pasig City tied for fourth place based on their performance ratings.
Gus Tambunting (82.7%) of Parañaque City, Jaye Lacson-Noel (82.5%) of Malabon City, and Arjo Atayde (82.4%) of Quezon City tied for fifth place in terms of job satisfaction.
In the overall performance evaluation, NCR awarded PBBM and VP Sara an excellent rating. NCR Mayors, the local chief executives whose responsibilities are vast and include a variety of roles, were evaluated by their residents and ranked based on the ratings they received. Constituents appraised and ranked District Representatives based on representation, legislation, and constituent service said Dr. Paul Martinez, Executive Director of RPMD.
The NCR survey was part of the national poll “RPMD’s Boses ng Bayan” conducted on February 25- March 8, 2023, per city in every region with 10,000 adult respondents.
Respondents were registered voters and all residents of Metro Manila aged 18 to 70. The sampling margin of error at ±1 percent and 95% confidence level. They were randomly chosen, and the number of respondents per city was distributed proportionally based on official voting population data.
