German company expanding Batangas facility

ZAMA Precision Industry Manufacturing Philippines Inc., a unit of Germany’s ZAMA Group, is expanding its production capabilities in the Philippines by adding a 11,000-meter-square facility in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

“Through this new facility, we will be able to amplify our efforts in producing electro-mechanicals technologies, wire harness and textile materials as well as explore other business ventures. This contributes more to the economy of the Philippines and also generates more employment,” said ZAMA Philippines president and managing director Ronald Wienholts.

The new $16-million facility is estimated to operate commercially by February 2024.

“We are honored to have attended such this important milestone. ZAMA has been a great example of how companies from Europe approach diversification of their business and to explore the China +1 strategy,” said German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. executive director Christopher Zimmer.

The ZAMA Group is the world’s largest manufacturer of diaphragm carburetors. It is also a major supplier of chain lubrication solutions and tensioning kits for chainsaws and a technology leader in those fields with operations in Japan, China, Philippines, the United States and Hong Kong.

The firm supplies to major original equipment manufacturers of gasoline-powered outdoor tools. Its facility is located at the First Philippine Industrial Park II Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

The ZAMA Group is also a member of the GPPCI. It belongs to the international network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad which is represented by 150 offices in 93 countries.

GPCCI is the official representation of German businesses in the Philippines. It is a bilateral membership organization with around 300 members and a service provider to companies in their market entry and expansion.
