Accenture Philippines said Tuesday it is committed to building the future talent in the country through digital upskilling.
“Talent upskilling has always been a focus for Accenture Philippines. We believe in the importance of equipping the Filipino talent with the right skills through technology-enablement programs like the S2S Academy,” Accenture Philippines country managing director Lito Tayag said.
“This is part of our commitment as a responsible business, as we strive to create value and a meaningful impact among our learners with the help our partner organizations. By doing so, we are able to help the Filipino youth kick-start their career journeys and achieve the goals they have set out for themselves,” he said.
Skills to Succeed Academy or S2S Academy has grown its learner base to over 145,000 and addd content and enhanced its features for the benefit of Filipino leaners since its launch in the Philippines in 2018.
The S2S Academy, which was launched by Accenture together with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and several non- government organizations such as Philippine Business for Social Progress, Philippine Business for Education, Foundation for Information Technology Education and Development Inc. and Bayan Academy for Social Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Development, is a free online learning program for young jobseekers in the Philippines. The program offers free online learning courses on soft skills and confidence-building to help young Filipinos gain the skills needed to get a job.
TESDA director-general Danilo Cruz said its partnership with Accenture comes at a very opportune time as it incorporates more 21st Century skills into training regulations and competency standards.
“We acknowledge Accenture in the Philippines for investing in the technical-vocational education and training sector and tapping the services of TESDA for the S2S Academy. Together, we shall continue providing our kababayans with job opportunities and, at the same time, improving the productivity and quality of our industries,” Cruz said.
Rudy Guiao, corporate citizenship executive sponsor of Accenture Philippines, said building the soft skills and confidence of the workforce is equally essential as supporting their technical training.
“The S2S Academy is a key initiative that allows Accenture Philippines and our partners to equip young job seekers in the Philippines in both aspects to level-up their employability and gain better career opportunities for a brighter future,” he said.
