Four dead in fireworks explosion in Calamba

Authorities reported that four persons were confirmed dead after a fire broke out in a fireworks factory in Calamba City, Laguna on Friday.

City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office officer Carlito Alcaraz, in a GMA News report, said an explosion was heard from the establishment before the blaze started at around 10 a.m. in Barangay Canlubang, according to Glen Juego’s report over dzBB’s Super Radyo.

A police report said the fire was raised to a second alarm at around 11:20 and was put under control at 12:03 p.m.

Early this month, a fireworks factory also exploded in Sta. Maria, Bulacan which caused eight individuals to sustain injuries.
