The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Friday that Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong is scheduled to visit the Philippines from November 14 to 15.

“The Honorable Senator Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, is scheduled to visit the Philippines on 14 to 15 November 2022 upon the invitation of Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique A. Manalo,” the DFA said in a statement.

Wong and Manalo will have a bilateral meeting on Nov. 15 to discuss various areas of cooperation, as well as the current state of their bilateral relations.

According to the DFA, they will zero in on the strong defense and security partnership, development cooperation, maritime cooperation, and people-to-people ties of the Philippines and Australia.

Both officials are also expected to discuss regional issues including the situation in the West Philippine Sea, the AUKUS Enhanced Trilateral Security Partnership, the Quad, and ASEAN-Australia engagements.
