CAMP BGEN VICENTE P LIM –The CALABARZON Police Force has successfully arrested 444 individuals by virtue of valid warrants of arrest in a day.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) leadership said it is opting to send a firm message to criminal elements that the police “are working and they will never be able to evade the arms of the law forever.”
The PNP has thus given a directive to all police units to conduct simultaneous service of warrants of arrest.
PRO 4A Acting Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. conveyed his appreciation to the men and women of his Office for the support they have shown to the efforts of the police organization to address criminality.
He also emphasized that almost half of these wanted persons have committed grave offenses, and with their arrest, the general public can feel safer in the comfort of their homes and even on the streets.
“Their relentless effort to deliver more than what is expected from them has really manifested how a united goal can reach the boundless limit. The PNP is more than one can imagine and your police can work untiringly to attain its purpose of finding, suppressing, and holding these criminals accountable for the crimes they have committed,” he said.
Among the 444 total arrested individuals with warrants, 125 are listed as Most Wanted Persons — 14 Regional Level; 23 Provincial Level; and 88 City/Municipal Level. The remaining 319 were listed as other wanted persons.
Most of the crimes violated that caused the issuance of warrants for these individuals are Homicide, rape, murder, and dangerous drug use and possession as a violation of Republic Act No. 9165. For that, the Regional Director had given specific instructions on how his men will further seize the opportunity to nab more offenders in the future.
Based on the report, Rizal Police Provincial Office has demonstrated excellence, putting behind bars a total of 147 wanted persons, but based on the percentage and number of standing warrants versus the number of arrested persons, Quezon Police Provincial Office led.
The Acting Regional Director shared the success of these police operations with the members of the community and Barangay Information Networks, which have helped PRO CALABARZON in gathering information as to the whereabouts of these fugitives of the law.
‘We have seen before, that individuals who have committed crimes, more so of heinous nature, would likely commit again another crime in the future, if they were given no intervention and for that, we seek the assistance of our stakeholders to come up with programs that will help criminals to restrain their impulsive actions once confronted with difficult situations and to help them also to reintegrate back to their communities and families,” said RD Nartatez.
