A congressional leader has offered P100,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the motorcycle-riding gunman who shot in a broad daylight a traffic enforcer in Dasmariñas City last Saturday.
Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr. of Dasmariñas City in Cavite, chair of the House committee on natural resources, said the reward would encourage the public to cooperate with authorities and solve the crime.
He offered the monetary reward on his Facebook post on late Saturday night.
Barzaga, a former Dasmariñas City mayor lamented the shooting of Edgard Quiroga. The victim is now being treated in a hospital.
Based on a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, Quiroga was seen having a conversation with another motorist when the unidentified rider showed up and shot him in the head.
“The male assailant was wearing a black and red helmet, long-sleeved grey shirt with blue denim pants and used a pink and black Yamaha Mio that had no license plates,” an informant said.
He assured would-be informant that his or her identify would be kept confidential.
“The identity of the informant will remain confidential for the person’s safety,” Barzaga said.
