Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan has applauded the Caloocan City Police for apprehending suspects and seizing 200 grams of shabu worth P1.36 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 171.
“Kinikilala at nagpapasalamat po tayo sa ating kapulisan. Tuloy-tuloy ang naging operasyon niyo laban sa ilegal na droga na ating iniatas sa simula pa lang ng ating administrasyon,” he said.
The Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) named the suspects as Myka Ofalsa, 28 years old, and Jomel Mang, 32 years old.
They were arrested by PCpl Zander Ibañez, who posed as the buyer during the sting operation and PCpl Abram Ramirez, in charge of perimeter security.
Also leading the operation were DEU Officer-in-Charge PLt. Gilmer Mariñas, National Capital Region-Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6th Mobile Force Commander PLt. Ryan Sangalang and Caloocan Police Chief Colonel Samuel Mina.
The suspects’ paraphernalia were also confiscated including a digital weighing scale, bamboo box, and heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets.
Mayor Malapitan reiterated that illegal drugs and related crimes will not be tolerated under his command, and those who shall continue their operations shall face maximum imprisonment.
“Walang puwang ang mga tulak sa Caloocan, huwag niyo na pong subukan dahil buong pwersa ng batas ang ating pakikilusin upang matiyak na mabubulok kayo sa kulungan,” Malapitan asserted.
The suspects will face charges of violating Section 5 and Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
