Since he transferred to the Kapuso lot, Paul Salas has since done a number of good projects like the top-raters Descendants of the Sun and The Lost Recipe. Now, he is part of the ambitious primetime offering Lolong and is very happy with this development.
“Actually, this is the type of project which I really wanted to do: action! It doesn’t matter whether it’s on the big or small screen. It’s really a dream come true for me,” he says.
At first, the appealing lad admitted that he was still feeling his way in, which is quite understandable since it was his first time to do action.
“But I just enjoyed every moment of it. I just put my trust on the production team, especially our director Rommel Penesa. They also laid their trust in me that I can do it and I guess I was able to deliver. I feel that I was able to push myself to give my best. Compared to my other shows, it’s in here where I get to mix my character with my real self. Really, this project is very memorable for me!”
Paul has high praises for the show’s protagonist Ruru Madrid whom he wanted to thank for all the support he extended to him in Lolong.
“I’m proud of Ru because he is a good leader. It’s because of him why the cast members are close. He is also the reason why all of us want to give our best. He worked so hard for his role, especially the physical demands. We are the ones who feel tired for him. Of course, seeing him, we also want to equal his dedication and hard work,” he states.
In Lolong, he shares the screen with veteran acting stalwarts Christopher de Leon and Jean Garcia. How was the experience?
“I felt afraid at first doing scenes with them, especially Tito Bo. When he’s already in character, I feel nervous. I really felt the pressure.
“It’s good that Mikoy (Morales) is there to give me the needed support. In my heavy scenes with Tito Bo and Ms. Jean, he would tell me to breathe and relax. It’s really a huge honor to be part of this show,” ends Paul.

After the successful run of Prima Donnas 2 that wrapped up last May, Katrina Halili decided to return to Palawan especially since her contract renewal with GMA is not clear yet. At least, she could spend more quality time with her daughter Katie.
But this proved to be short-lived as she is scheduled to join the upcoming Kapuso series Unica Hija to be top-billed by Kate Valdez and Kelvin Miranda.
Although she hasn’t heard anything concrete yet about her contract renewal considering that it will expire by October, it’s still a good development for Kat’s career. The show is her second series this year.
In the show, the alluring actress will collaborate with Mark Herras and Boboy Garovillo who both came from successful programs as well namely, Artikulo 24/7 and First Lady, respectively.
Click pioneers Biboy Ramirez and Maybeline dela Cruz are also set to make their soap opera comeback through this project. They haven’t been seen regularly on TV the past years.
Faith de Silva, Maricar de Mesa, Jemwell Ventenilla, Athena Madrid, Jennie Gabriel, and Bernard Palanca round up the supporting cast.
