The country’s oldest and largest ammunition manufacturer, ARMSCOR Global Defense Inc., held its first post-pandemic Tactical, Survival, and Arms (TACS) Expo on Thursday, June 23, at the Megatrade Hall in Mandaluyong City.
In his speech, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año underscored how a gun has saved his life several times from immediate danger.
He said the responsible use of guns was a “glaring sign of peace and security.”
Año applauded the country’s strict gun laws and drew comparison to the alarming gun violence in the United States where a Filipino lawyer died recently after getting shot in the head.
A former military chief, Año disclosed his love for collecting different firearms.
The event also allowed manufacturers to showcase their latest innovations in weapons, equipment, and technologies.
Rescue tools and techniques, mobility in time of disasters, and data privacy were also key elements in the expo.
Created to promote responsible gun ownership and to educate the public on defense and security, ARMSCOR continues to advocate the importance of survival during disasters and emergency situations.
The expo is open to the public for free and will run until Sunday, June 26.
ARMSCOR encourages guests to pre-register at TACS official website.
