“We’re inviting our local poker enthusiasts, those regular MCC players to join the Championship. This is your chance to further level up your skills and at the same time take the challenge of winning the million prizes, ” Rivera said, during the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports, Inc. ‘Usapang Sports’ on Thursday via Zoom.

Mylene Advincula, MCC General Manager, stressed that the MCC is ready for a big tournament like the APC, as well as the implementation of the ‘safety and health’ protocol based on the order of the Pasig local government and the Inter-Agency Task Force.

“It is not new for us to host big international tournaments like this. Our staff and personnel are all trained under all circumstances and when it comes to the safety of the players, ever since we returned to face-to-face we have been really strict for the  safety  of the players, ”said Advincula at the weekly sports forum sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission, Games and Amusements Board and PAGCOR.

“We do require pre-vaccinated players. And aside from these safety precautions, we put up wash up areaa and we provide alcohol to every player at the table. And of course,  face mask is mandatory and required before you enter the premises, ”said Advincula.

Rivera admitted that it is hard and takes sacrifice to promote a tournament like this, but as a poker player, it comes with the courage and confidence just to overcome all challenges.

“We need 500 players para walang problema sa guaranteed pot prize. But kung hindi maabot, ‘yun ang isa sa responsibilidad ng host ng grupo ni Mylene, ‘yung mag-abono,” said Rivera in jest.

But with the partnership with the Korean Mind Game Members (KMGM), Rivera said at least 200 Korean players are coming over to join the tournament set to start on June 6, Sunday at 6 p.m.
