Emperador aims to hike whisky sales

Emperador Inc., the world’s largest brandy manufacturer, said it aims to double sales of single malt Scotch whisky by 2025.

Emperador said in briefing materials posted on the Philippine Stock Exchange website that from 2015 to 2021, single malt sales grew at a compounded annual growth rate of 22 percent.

Whisky revenues increased at an average of 11.3 percent from 2016 to 2021, or from P11.4 billion to P19.5 billion.

Brandy revenues posted a compounded annual growth rate of 5.6 percent from P29.6 billion in 2016 to P38.9 billion in 2021. Whisky comprised 33 percent of Emperador’s revenues while brandy accounted for 67 percent last year.

Emperador said it would aggressively expand globally, with 50 percent of sales and profits expected to come from the international market by 2025.
