NCRPO bares 3-month accomplishment

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has arrested more than 5,000 drug dealers and seized more than P629 million worth of prohibited drugs in its relentless anti-narcotics campaign in Metro Manila over the last three months.

NCRPO records showed that from March 1 to May 28, 2022, a total of P629,935,572 worth of illegal drugs was confiscated under the leadership of NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad.

The document also showed that 2,779 anti-drug operations were conducted during the same period, resulting in the seizure of 92,083 grams of shabu worth P626,164,434; along with 30,076 grams of marijuana with a street value of P3,609,138; ecstasy, P13,600; and cocaine, P148,400.

These operations also led to the arrest of 5,098 suspected drug dealers and their accomplices.

In the anti-gambling drive, the NCRPO conducted 1, 392 police operations yielding 4,121 people arrested, and confiscate a total of P783,299 gambling bets confiscated.

Natividad reiterated his warning against criminals and law offenders whom he described as “threats to the peace and tranquility of the nation’s capital.”

“We are serious in our fight against all forms of criminality, illegal drugs, gambling, terrorism and corruption. We will not cease until we totally eradicate the long running societal problems of the region,” he said.
