After losing the presidential and vice-presidential races, Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III seem well on their way to resume their normal lives.
In posts on Facebook, Lacson’s son, Panfilo “Pampi” Jr., posted a video of his father smiling and clad in a shirt, jeans, and sandals harvesting root crops.
Lacson, 73, who is among the first candidates to acknowledge the insurmountable lead of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the presidential race last Monday, told newsmen that he looks forward to going back to his family and civilian life as he plans to go back to vegetable farming in his home province of Cavite.
Lacson said he plans to resume his exercise routine and eating more healthily.
“Either I go to Malacañang or I go home. If I go home, I want to regain my vanity. Napabayaan natin pati exercise. Tapos hindi makakain because of the campaign dahil takot kang kumain ng marami (I even failed to exercise. I couldn’t eat well because of the campaign. I did not want to eat much),” he said.
Meanwhile, Sotto’s Facebook page shows him playing golf. Sotto, 73, stopped playing golf when he became Senate president.
“I am going to work in lowering my (golf game) handicap. Currently, it’s hovering between 9 and 10. It used to be 3 to 5,” Sotto said of his handicap.
A handicap is the number of strokes given to a player’s score in a particular golf game to acknowledge the player’s skill in meeting the allowed number of strokes per hole.
