Volunteers do house-to-house drive for Leni

Supporters of presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo on Saturday launched a house-to-house campaign, highlighted by the participation of celebrities, among them veteran actress Agot Isidro.

Dubbed “tao sa tao” (man to man), the initiative aimed to generate mass support for the candidacies of Robredo and her running mate, Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.

A “grand house-to-house day” was organized to mark the kick-off of the campaign, with volunteers sharing their views and testimonies during an impromptu event held at the Leni-Kiko Volunteer Center in Katipunan, Quezon City.

For Agot Isidro, one of the first celebrities to endorse the Leni-Kiko tandem, house-to-house campaigning is a way to reach more individuals and enable them to learn more about Robredo and her platform.

“It is reaching out to those voters who are not in the rallies, reaching out to the people on the ground who I think are most affected by the outcome of the coming elections,” Isidro said.

She added that apart from being able to spread the word on Robredo, doing house-to-house campaigning also enables supporters to have conversations with people, learn more about their personal experiences, and share with them what the Vice President has to offer if she becomes President.

“I prefer house-to-house for us to know who we are talking to. How can we know what people want and what people should expect when we don’t know what they need?” the actress said.

”It is more inclusive. We have a certain feel, or a sense of what’s happening to them on a daily basis, where they are economically, financially, socially. All of these make us more effective in reaching out to them, to address their needs,” she added

Isidro said anyone can join the house-to-house campaign for Robredo.
