NBI nabs 5 suspects involved in a sex den operation in Atimonan

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday announced the arrest of five individuals by operatives of NBI-Lucena District Office (NBI-LUCDO) for operating a sex den in Atimonan, Quezon.

NBI Officer-In-Charge (OIC) Eric Distor identified the suspects as Renita Agoho Francia, Rowena Tocayon Abo, Lyra Amado Riego, Josefina D.  Devilles, and Mary Anne Parco Alvarez.

The suspects were presented before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings with the recommendation that they will be charged for Qualified Trafficking in Person under RA 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003). Subjects are being detained in NBI-LUCDO detention facility, pending inquest disposition.

Distor said the suspects were arrested in an entrapment operation conducted on February 10, 2022, against the operator and maintainer of Kingfisher Lodge Hotel and Videoke Bar.

The five suspects are believed to be responsible for the illegal operation of a sex den inside the said hotel—-Renita Agoho Francia alias Madam Aleth, manager/operator of the sex den; Rowena Tocayon Abo, cashier; Lyra Amado Riego, all-around worker; Josefina D. Devilles, in-charge of the counter section of the den; and Mary Anne Parco Alvarez, all-around service crew.

The operation likewise resulted in the rescue of seven trafficked victims who claimed that they worked as GROs in the said sex den. The Atimonan, Quezon Municipal Social Welfare Office’s intervention was sought and the victims were processed accordingly.
