Former Vice President Jejomar Binay and reelectionist Sen. Richard Gordon remain in the senatorial ticket of presidential aspirant Sen. Panfilo Lacson and his running mate, Senate Pres. Vicente Sotto III.
“It is not true that we are dropping, much less have removed, ex-VP Jojo Binay and Sen Dick Gordon from our senatorial slate,” said Lacson, Partido Reporma standard bearer.
“As far as SP Sotto and I are concerned, they continue to honor our gentlemen’s agreement unlike the two that we have dropped earlier,” he added.
Lacson and Sotto earlier removed reelectionist Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and former Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista from their lineup after the two attended the proclamation rally and openly endorsed former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for president.
Binay, for his part, said he has not violated the agreement for guest candidates not to endorse a specific presidential bet.
“I never applied to be a guest candidate, but I welcomed my inclusion in their ticket,” Binay said.
“We had a gentleman’s agreement – no endorsement for guest candidates. I didn’t declare my support for anyone and didn’t attend any event. Lalaki akong kausap,” he added.
