Conrad Manila Awarded 2022 ASEAN Green Hotel and ASEAN MICE Hotel

Conrad Manila received the dual recognition as ASEAN Green Hotel and the ASEAN MICE Hotel at the recent 2022 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Tourism Standards Awards by the Department of Tourism recently held in Cambodia.

This is the third time that Conrad Manila has been awarded the bi-annual ASEAN Tourism Standards as Green Hotel and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) since the hotel started its operations five years ago.

As an ASEAN Green Hotel, Conrad Manila is a haven for smart luxury by the Manila Bay with 347 guest rooms, highly acclaimed dining destinations and leisure options. A recipient of the prestigious LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold-Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), all guest rooms and suites offer picturesque bay or city views and feature motion sensors that adjust the air conditioning switches from energy-saving mode to cool and automatically open the curtains with ambient lighting set to match the time of the day. Some of Conrad Manila’s energy-efficient and environment-friendly efforts include: hotel guest rooms outfitted with occupancy sensors, which automatically switches off lights and reduces ventilation rates in unoccupied rooms; dual flush toilets and low-flow plumbing and irrigation fixtures significantly reduce the amount of water used on a daily basis; flooring products such as resilient tile and carpet meet strict emissions standards; paints, coatings, adhesives, and sealants are low volatile organic compounds (VOC); among others.

Sustainability is built into the fabric of Conrad Manila’s green principles and operations, guided by the LightStay program, Hilton’s corporate responsibility performance measurement platform for managing energy, water, and waste. The hotel’s team members are also actively involved in the practice of waste reduction, re-use, recycling, waste separation and composting programs at every touchpoint: at workstations, staff rooms, cafeteria, and back office areas.
