Teen sensation Alex Eala has recovered from COVID-19 and is getting ready to return to action soon.
Her parents have confirmed that the 16-year-old Eala got sick during the holidays in Seattle, where her whole family spent time together.
Eala, according to her father Michael, will start practicing once she gets back to the Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain.
She slipped to no. 10 last week in the ITF Junior rankings, but climbed two notches higher to no. 8 following an update last Tuesday.
Her coaches will still find out if Eala will be fit play in the first week of the three-week Women 25 tournament at the Academy in Mallorca starting on January 17.
For now, Eala will not be seen in the Australian Open Juniors this month as she will focus more on the Women’s Professional Tour.
Eala last saw action in a Grade A Junior meet in Plantation, Florida, where she reached the second round of the singles. Peter Atencio
