The Board of Investments approved the application of Agro Azienda Inc., a new producer of broiler chicken in Maragondon, Cavite, for tax incentives.
Broiler chicken production is included in the list of preferred investment projects under “Agriculture, Fishery and Forestry” in Strategic Investment Priority Plan of the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises Act.
Agro Azienda said the P195.5-million broiler chicken project would start operations by May 2022 on a contract growing arrangement with a major broiler supplier.
The facility can raise up to 2.31 million birds per year, supported by brand-new equipment that will monitor growth development of the fowls. Among the innovations adopted by the project include a fly management control system, tunnel vent building design, dry manure and insecticide fly trap.
Starting with 10 direct workers, the project is expected to employ 109 workers from the host community.
