Ang Probinsyano aids 290 students

The Ang Probinsyano party-list is batting for a brighter new year for 290 high school and college students as it handed educational assistance to the poor but deserving learners from Manila and Marikina last week.

Fresh from securing the #50 slot on the official ballot for the 2022 polls in the electronic raffle conducted by the Commission on Elections, the party-list, in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), extended P2,000 assistance each to 270 students from Manila.

Some 20 other student-beneficiaries from Marikina also underwent an educational assistance orientation at the Tanong Barangay Hall.

The payout immediately followed at the House of Representatives, with P2,000 to P3,500 given to each high school student and P5,000 for every college student.

Ang Probinsyano Party-List third nominee Michael Chua emphasized the role of the youth in building the country’s future.

“We are aiming for an inclusive and productive education for all, that is why we are here to extend some help,” Chua said.

He called on the students to strengthen their education because it would be their gateway to a better tomorrow.

Beneficiaries Janella Ciervo and Cristel Dizon, from Jesus Reigns Christian College and Universidad de Manila, respectively, both expressed gratitude for the educational assistance.

Coming from a big family with meager income, Ciervo said she will use the money to pay for her tuition, while Dizon said the amount will go a long way.
