Araneta City gives back to communities with ‘All-New Grand China Acrobatic Circus’

The Smart Araneta Coliseum opened its doors anew to thousands of audiences from the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force, members of the press, charities, children with disability, senior citizens and nearby communities to watch the much-awaited All-New Grand China Acrobatic Circus.

Ninth Wave-Skills on Poles is an interpretation of the famous Russian painter Ivan Aivazovsky’s work depicting soldiers braving the angry ocean. 

A day before its debut, The Grand China Acrobatic Circus held a special performance at the Smart Araneta Coliseum giving tributes to Filipino heroes and families. More than a thousand uniformed men spent a day-off with their families at the Christmas show given by Araneta City.

Apart from these, the show was also enjoyed by a hundred of differently-abled children from PEDYA Camp, more than 200 (two hundred) Senior Citizens from Brgy. E. Rodriguez Sr. Quezon City and the Little Sisters of the Abandoned and more than a hundred members of the Orthopedic Society.

The show was also opened to more than a thousand families from Brgy. Socorro, Quezon City, Baseco Compound, Channel of Hope, Villa Maria Chapel, Immaculate Concepcion Parish, St. Peter Parish and Saint Martin Parish.

Annually, the Smart Araneta Coliseum opens its doors to the public to witness a special run-through performance of the Christmas show. As for this year, spectators were treated with the multi-awarded performances of the China National Acrobatic Troupe in a one-hour–thirty-minute show titled: The All-New Grand China Acrobatic Circus.

One of the acts performed at the special show is the multi-awarded Ninth Wave- Skills on Poles an interpretation of the famous Russian painter Ivan Aivazovsky’s work depicting soldiers braving the angry ocean. Audiences were also enthralled by the majestic and hypnotizing performance of the Rose Bud Contortionist.

Founded in 1950, the China National Acrobatic Troupe was the first National performing arts group established by the Central Government of China. From its beginnings in Beijing where the troupe hone and perfected their craft, CNAT became one of the most decorated acrobatic troupe in Asia with 67 golden awards from local and international award-giving bodies. 

CNAT brings to the Philippines its world-class acts recognized by prestigious award-giving bodies as the most spectacular, most enthralling, boldest, most daring and eye-pleasing acts in the world.

The All-new Grand China Acrobatic Circus is for the family and all ages. The show opened on Christmas Day and will run until Jan. 4 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
