Marking its first project for the 18th Congress, the Congressional Spouses Foundation, Inc. collaborates with Pintô Art Gallery to hold a fundraising art exhibition at the South Wing Lobby of the House of Representatives.
The “Pintô sa Kongreso: An Art Appreciation Exhibit,” which opened on Sept. 23 and runs until Oct. 3, features the works of over 75 artists, including some of the most well-known names in Philippine visual arts.
CSFI president Taguig Congresswoman Lani Cayetano and Dr. Joven Cuanang of Pintô envisioned the exhibition to present contemporary art, putting a spotlight on the remarkable Filipino talent, creativity, and imagination.
Some of the works on display include “Cantata for Lourdes” by National Artist for Visual Arts HR (Hernando Ruiz) Ocampo, which features his unique brand of abstraction of interlocking, tonally varied shapes; an untitled work by Malang that highlights the bonding between a mother and her children through a colorful palette.
An untitled acrylic on paper work by Juvenal Sanso that depicts his signature blooms juxtaposed with a suggestion of a moon; “Along the Mangroves” by Erwin Leaño that reveals an impressionistic snapshot of a landscape; and “Living Here 2” by Raffy T. Napay that presents a human figure emerging from the woods through the medium of tapestry.
Proceeds from the exhibit will go to the livelihood programs and projects of the CSFI.
CSFI is a non-stock, non-profit organization composed of the spouses of the members of the House of Representatives. It aims to support the legislative initiatives of the congressmen through the implementation of meaningful socio-civic projects that meet the short-term and long-term needs of their respective constituents.
