Will Grey go to jail and free DeLuca?

I’ve finished watching Grey’s Anatomy Season 15 on Netflix (it is still telecast on FoxLife Wednesdays, 9:00 p.m.) and again it’s a cliffhanging season-ender with Dr. DeLuca (Giacomo Giannioti), the new squeeze of Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), in prison for insurance fraud.

Grey's Anatomy's Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) with her new squeeze Dr. DeLuca (Giacomo Glannioti).

The last scene showed Grey visiting DeLuca and telling him that she loves him; and that she will turn herself in and will admit to the crime. Then she leaves the cell as the image cuts to Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) on a foggy road to Seattle looking out for Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams), which leaves us the question whether Jesse Williams has departed the series.

Season 16 has already premiered on ABC (US) on Sept. 27, 2018. I don’t expect it will be telecast soon on FoxLife immediately after Season 15. Netflix subscribers, like me, can wait another year for the streaming service to show it.

Back to 15, there are other sub-stories given some kind of resolution, like Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) giving birth to a baby girl by Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) who professes his love to her hence leaving Tom Koracick (Greg German) hopes that Teddy would move in with him hanging in the hospital room while Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) and Atticus “Link” Lincoln (Chris Camarck) acknowledge what they have for each other.

It was a rather feeble season with the producers (including Pompeo herself) trying to find that lost spark of the show when Patrick Dempsey was there and the others that had already left. One perceptible story ark the producers are desperately trying to strengthen is the budding relationship between Grey and DeLuca, but the latter is no heavyweight having appeared in two episodes of Station 19 before joining Grey’s Anatomy. The Rome-born Canadian-raised actor gets his big break by being paired with Pompeo who has moved up as the series’ producer.

Even if the series has worked on the back story of Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) is given an entire episode and Alex Karev stepping into the shoes of Interim Chief, it seems they’re not enough for Grey’s fans to get hooked and be excited about.

Let’s see how this pairing goes in Season 16 that will precede the finale season, if the producers would keep their word to end the series this year.

‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ goes overseas

The characters played by Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards are facing a dilemma. Will they choose love or family in the film Hello, Love Goodbye, written by Carmi Raymundo and directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina?

Joy (Kathryn) and Ethan (Alden) are two Filipinos working for a living in Hong Kong with different goals in life. Joy is a domestic helper who is determined to do everything to have a better life, compared to the life she had as a child. Ethan is a bartender who is building a permanent life in Hong Kong but has always been afraid of commitments.

In the process of getting to know each other, Joy and Ethan also discover new things about themselves, which could possibly affect the plans they have with their respective lives.

Hello, Love, Goodbye marks the first time that two of the prime stars today from Philippines’ media giants, ABS-CBN and GMA, are working on one project that tackles the lives of the overseas Filipinos.

The movie that already grossed more than  P400 million in domestic box office is getting international exposures as well. On Aug.1, it was screened in Papua New Guinea and on Aug. 4 in Norway; Aug. 8 in the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Brunei; Aug. 9 in the U.S., Canada, and Tel Aviv, Israel; Aug. 10 and 11 in United Kingdom also in Ireland, France, Austria, Italy, Malta, and Taiwan.

On Aug. 18 it will be seen in Hong Kong; Aug. 23 in Malaysia; Sept. 1 in Spain and Japan; Sept. 9 in Greece; Sept. 28 and 29 in South Korea; and soon in Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Kathryn and Alden will grace the movie premieres in Singapore on Aug. 18. There will also be a special screening on Aug. 25 in Cambodia.
