3 SPD stations among MM’s best

Southern Police District district director B/Gen. Eliseo Cruz on Wednesday commended his men after three police stations in his district were named in the top five best police stations in Metro Manila.

The three police stations—Pasay City, Makati City, and Las Pinas City—bagged the numbers 2, 4 and 5 spots in the awarding of Top 5 Best City Police Station for the month of June.

The citation held in a simple awarding ceremony coincided with the Weekly Oversight Committee Meeting at the National Capital Region Police Office in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City presided by NCRPO regional director for operations B/Gen. Crizaldo Nieves.

The Pasig City and Mandaluyong City police stations, both in the Eastern Police District, bagged the number 1 and 3 spots, respectively.

The police stations were conferred with an award “for their outstanding performance in the discharge of their mandated functions in keeping the peace and maintaining law and order in their area which contributed immensely to the accomplishment of the over-all vision and objective of the NCRPO in particular and the Philippine National Police in general.”

“Truly, the Southern Police District is steadily maintaining its standing as its three police stations bagged the top 2, 4 and 5. To perform our mandate, we must do our best in providing total police service to our people, community and to the organization we represent,” said Cruz.

Cruz praised the three police commanders Col. Bernard Yang (Pasay), Col. Rogelio Simon (Makati) and Col. Simnar Gran (Las Pinas) “for the good performance and for the job well done.”

Just recently, the SPD also topped the list of police districts in Metro Manila that performed well in its fight against crime and illegal drugs during the first four months of the year.

Records showed that the SPD ranked No. 1 in the performance evaluation rating of the same accomplishments for the period covered December 5, 2017 to December 3, 2018 and from January 1 to March 31, 2019.

During that period, the SPD posted a total of 2,154 apprehension. Of the total number, 339 were arrested for drug dealing while 1,815 others were drug dependents.

The SPD also seized a total of 791.137 grams of shabu, 1,573.46 grams of marijuana, one ecstasy tablet, 3.26 grams of cocaine with a total worth of P5,895,423 and confiscate 25 assorted firerarms during the first quarters of this year.

The SPD also arrested 550 drug dealers and 136 drug dependents and confiscated nine firearms, 428.458 grams of shabu and 1,125.1 grams of marijuana worth more than P3 million in April.

Cruz assured the public that the SPD will always “put its best foot forward, and will give its best in working together with the community for a better place to live, work and do business.”
