Summer in Japan, which happens in the months of June to August, brings loads of fresh water fish dishes and the perfect opportunity to wear yukata, a summer kimono usually woven with a lighter fabric.
These prized catch from the vast seascapes of the Land of Rising Sun are delivered fresh to Kitsho’s kitchen to be cooked and served as savory dishes such as mebaru shioyaki (boiled saltwater fish), chi ayu (young fish tempura), mebaru nitsuke (saltwater grilled fish), and ayu (fresh water grilled sweet fish). Price per dish is P1,380, inclusive of VAT.
Ramen dishes plus chahang and gyozu will be offered with the restaurant’s a la carte buffet, which is priced at P1,356 (lunch) and P1,536 (dinner), inclusive of VAT and service charge
Kitsho doesn’t prepare a buffet spread setup, which means everything diners wish to sample and savor will be prepared only when ordered; every dish is served right off the flame.
With July being the height of Japan’s summer season, the Japanese restaurant located in Hotel Jen Manila marks the season with a Yukata Challenge.
Diners who wear a yukata when they dine at Kitsho will get 10 percent discount from their orders, except the a la carte buffet. In addition to discount, yukata wearers who post their snapshots to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #IamKitshoKimono get a chance to win a special prize.
The diner who gets the most number of shares will win a gift voucher worth P5,000 from the f&b team. In case of a tie, the aggregate reactions garnered by the contending posts will be the tie breaker. The Yukata Challenge starts today, July 1, and ends on the midnight of July 31.
