In their annual media thanksgiving, Epson Philippines Corporation announced that eyeing a bigger market share is its target goal this year by focusing on their business-to-business (B2B) operations while establishing new businesses.
During a series of presentations in Epson’s Fusion event in Boracay Island, led by Eduardo Bonoan, EPC’s General Manager for Marketing, the company presented its plans this year under a built initiative. Most of the presentations focused on printers and visual instruments.
Bonoan also revealed that Epson Philippines posted an overall positive growth of 23% in FY18, compared to 2017 fiscal year’s outstanding growth of 14%.
In terms of product category, EPC’s main products, inkjet printers, and scanners, were the highest contributors at 70%, succeeded by point of sale (POS) and dot matrix printers at 14%, visual instruments at 11% and commercial & industrial products at 5%.
More than reaching a bigger market share, Bonoan also shared EPC’s plan to maintain its supremacy in the printing industry. This will include the additional new businesses and putting their core technologies into new forms of machines for a larger commercial use on their line.
To address the requirements of the B2B segment, EPC also aims to penetrate niche markets, while enhancing its operations.
“For Epson to become an indispensable company, we have to continue to move outside of our comfort zones and into a more progressive mindset—with obsession to details still deeply embedded in our DNA,” said Bonoan.
With the new initiative, Epson Philippines will focus more on its cutting-edge Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS), LIJ printers, scanners, label printers, mobile POS, CAD, signage and textile printers, as well as its high brightness projectors.
“To add to our exceptional performance for inkjet printers and scanners, the FY18 performance for POS and dot matrix printers, visual instruments and commercial and industrial products tells us that this is the perfect opportunity to build the new foundation for Epson here in the Philippines,” he added.
However, Bonoan cleared that the changing mindset of customers brought about by technological advancements. With technology enabling more personalized and real-time experiences, customers expect more from businesses.
