An unidentified vendor on the side of the Quiapo church in Manila patiently waits for customers to buy any in his stand of religious souvenir items on the eve of Palm Sunday when Catholics wave traditional palm branches to mark the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. It was adopted into Christian iconography to represent the victory of martyrs, or the victory of the spirit over the flesh.
