Meralco PowerGen Corp., the parent of Atimonan One Energy Inc., assured it is one with the local government unit in pushing for the progress of the town.
A1E is the developer of a planned 1,200-megawatt coal-fired power plant, among the key infrastructures expected to rise in Atimonan in the future.
“We all agree that what we want to happen in Atimonan is for the common good of everyone,” said Meralco PowerGen president and chief executive officer Rogelio Singson in a statement.
Singson said MGen was seeking to set a standard of excellence in power plant operations and in developing and engaging host communities to make them progressive and sustainable.
“We put the local communities at the heart of what we do. We want to ensure that as our projects progress, our communities grow and develop with us,” the official said.
AIE helped provided assistance for the development of Comprehensive Land Use Plan as contained in its memorandum agreement with Atimonan.
