Flag carrier Philippine Airlines on Wednesday announced that it was  temporarily suspending the relaunch of its Manila-New Delhi-Manila flight service, citing the reported tension at the Indian-Pakistan border.

“We are constrained to take this step as news of India-Pakistan border tensions has prompted many travelers to cancel bookings and defer their travel plans,” the PAL management said in a statement.

The airline is supposed to relaunch the four times weekly nonstop flights between Manila and New Delhi on March 31, 2019.

“We seek the understanding of our passengers who have already booked flights or purchased tickets on the Delhi service,” the airline stated.

Ticket holders may avail of any of the following options: Reroute their tickets to any regional destination within 30 days from their original ticket, or refund the cost of their tickets.

PAL officials apologized to all affected passengers. “We assure the traveling public that we will make the appropriate announcement once a new start date is finalized. Thank you for your understanding.”
